History

McKenzie Personnel Systems (MPS) is a 501(c) Nonprofit that has been in operation since 1984. The organization was founded by two parents of individuals with disabilities and UO grad student David Mank; when the organization was awarded a contract to provide job development and vocational support for 12 individuals who experience developmental disabilities. MPS is committed to providing opportunities for real work in integrated community jobs and has extensive experience delivering vocational support. MPS built a reputation early on for providing services for individuals with complex challenging behaviors. At the time of our founding, there were no other programs in Oregon, and very few in the country, offering support in community jobs.

Currently our program offers, Job development, job coaching, employment path, community based work assessments and targeted work assessments for our vocational clients.

In 2010 we began our supported living program where we provide all elements of independent living including: advocacy, housing, budgeting, medical, and community inclusion.
